The Houston Comets were a WNBA team that were based in Houston, Texas. The Comets were formed in 1997, and won the first four conference championships. The team had won more championships than any other team. They have won four championships and four conference titles. The team colors are red, silver, blue, and white. In 2008, the team was "disbanded" because coaching and management could not be found in time.

After the death of a teammate in 2000, the Comets made their last WNBA FInlas and championship appearancein their franchise history. Between 2001 and 2006, the Comets made it to the playoffs four other times but lost in an early round.
