Lisa Leslie


 

Lisa LeslieLisa Leslie is a former women's professioal basketball player that played in the Women's National Basketball league (WNBA). Lisa retired in 2009, she was a three-time MVP for the WNBA and she was four-time Olympic Gold Medalist. She was drafted in 1997 to the Los Angeles Sparks and played with them for eleven seasons. Within theses seasons, Lisa made seven All-Star appearances and two WNBA championships.

Lisa began playing basketball at a young age, she began playing basketball on an all boys team and then later on an all-girls team. She was 6'1 before she was in high school, and her friend begged her to try-out for the girls basketball team in middle school. This is when Lisa became ambidextrous, she was the only left-handed player and did not want have to be split up from her team while doing drills. Lisa graduated from USC after high school and then she was drafted to WNBA in 1997. Lisa was drafted by the Los Angeles Sparks.

Lisa had many accomplishments while playing in the WNBA. She was named MVP eight times, had two WNBA finals, and played on ALL WNBA First Team and Second Team six times.
